The Brain Center at Serenity View

The Brain Center

At The Meadows, we’re always looking for ways to incorporate the latest evidence-based treatment methods into our programs. Our Brain Center offers neurofeedback, Hemoencephalography biofeedback, Cranio-Electro Stimulation, Heart-Rate Variability, and chi machines, which increase regulation and resiliency in patients, enabling them to be more successful in long-term recovery. Our Brain Center’s limbic system therapy focuses on regulating the central nervous system, resulting in less anxiety, fewer withdrawal symptoms, better sleep, and a more effective treatment experience.

Family Education & Support

Family dynamics play a key role in both challenges and healing. Held during the third or fourth week of treatment, our four-day Family Program helps loved ones navigate complex relationships, address trauma, and build healthier connections.

One designated family member participates in educational sessions, group discussions, and boundary-setting exercises, with the option to attend a lecture with Dr. Paul Lee or Dr. Kevin McCauley. The program concludes with a wrap-up session with the patient, family member, and primary therapist to support open communication and long-term recovery. Families also stay involved through visits and a one-on-one session with the primary therapist before discharge.

Holistic Services

Healing goes beyond talk therapy. In addition to individual and group sessions, patients engage in experiential therapies like art, spirituality groups (including Hand in Hand, focused on inner joy and peace of mind), yoga, and personal training. Recovery also includes serenity walks, psychoeducation, fishing in our pond, and life skills like boundary-setting, creating a well-rounded, customized treatment experience.

Support for Every Step of the Journey

Recovery in Practice: A 5th Week Transition Program

Recovery doesn’t stop at 30 days—stepping back into daily life can bring new challenges. Our Recovery in Practice week is an optional, structured fifth week of treatment designed to help patients build confidence in real-world settings while maintaining support.

During this week, patients participate in guided community outings—visiting restaurants, grocery stores, and entertainment venues to practice navigating triggers in real time. With staff support, they learn to apply the coping strategies developed in treatment, reinforcing their ability to make empowered choices. Outings include a 12-step meeting, with opportunities to secure a temporary sponsor and engage in service work. Patients also process their experiences in group therapy, ensuring community connection and support every step of the way.

Outpatient Care and Case Management

We’re in this journey with you from before you arrive at treatment to well after you head home. Our discharge planners and case managers are committed to helping each patient create a roadmap for long-term recovery. This includes making the most of treatment while you’re with us and having a solid plan for life after inpatient treatment. For some, aftercare may include taking advantage of our nearby outpatient program, The Meadows Outpatient Center-Dallas, as a way to transition to another level of care to support lasting recovery. We’re also available to support connecting patients with additional outpatient or sober living options as well as getting connected to their local sober community.

12 Step Principles

The Meadows Texas incorporates 12-Step principles to help patients build connection, process emotions, and develop tools for lasting recovery. Through guided meetings, patients share their experiences in a supportive environment, reducing shame and gaining insight into the patterns that led to addiction. After treatment, we encourage continued involvement in 12-Step communities for ongoing support and relapse prevention.
